Summary
workouts.fyi is local-first: workouts, equipment, and history stay on your device by default. An account is optional — only if you want coach features, sync, or cloud generation.
What we process
Without an account: workout data and settings in IndexedDB on your device; no required transfer to our servers.
With an account: email address, display name, profile and workout data you choose to sync (e.g. history, active session, equipment setup).
Technical: language preference (`circuit_locale` cookie), auth session cookies when signed in, server logs when you use the site/API.
Why we use it
To run the app, optional cross-device sync, coach and generation features for signed-in users, transactional email (sign-in, password reset), and troubleshooting.
When you use cloud coach generation, selected workout context is sent to an LLM provider — only in the signed-in flow, not for anonymous offline use.
Processors
Hosting and backend: Convex (database, sync, server functions).
Email: Resend (transactional mail).
Authentication: Better Auth (via our backend).
LLM provider: only when cloud generation is used while signed in.
Retention
Local data stays on your device until you delete it or clear app data.
Cloud data is kept while your account exists. You can request deletion by email.
Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and restriction under GDPR. Contact hello@workouts.fyi.
You can use the app without an account and remove local data in your device settings at any time.
